Polzeath

Polzeath is few minutes walk down the hill. It is a very good place to learn surfing, with waves rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean – indeed it is one of the finest surfing beaches in the UK. The combination of Atlantic swells and the gradual shelving sandy beach produces longr, slow breaking waves that are ideal for improving surfing skills novice to advanced. There are lifeguards on the beach during the daytime in the season. Dolphins may sometimes be spotted and the surrounding coastline is a particularly good area for many types of coastal bird including puffins.
